[Mash does, in fact, feel a strange sense of familiarity when the boy greets her. It's vague enough that she by no means places where it's coming from, but also persistent enough that it lingers in the back of her mind as she steps into the room properly. Maybe it's just something about kitchens, and cooks. There is a sense of home to them that feels like it transcends place and time. People always need to eat, and some talented (and overworked) soul always needs to provide for them.
